I can't make any comparative statements because I have only owned one blind, but I can speak to that one - the Ameristep Tent Chair Blind. It is a self contained unit (tent, chair, with carrying bag), is lightweight (relatively speaking) and inexpensive. I have used it mostly in my yard, but I have also used it in a forrest near my place. Given it's price, I wasn't sure how it would hold up in cold weather but I decided to give it a try and used it for three hours in -30c (-22F I believe) in a marsh area (hoping for coyote, deer, jack rabbit, etc). While I was careful not to handle it roughly or sit down too quickly/heavily, it did just fine in this temperature. It has a multitude of ways to open parts of it; be it for viewing or ventilation. There are a few pockets which are nice for storing small items. I have no hesitation in recommending it.
