Interested in hearing if anyone has had the occasion (necessity?) to use an aftermarket lens hood for Zeiss Milvus lenses.

Other than threaded / screw on hoods are there any decent options out there?

(the lens/hood design is pretty "architectural" in nature so I recognize anything would be at best an imperfect fit)

Not aftermarket, but you might get lucky and find a used one on eBay. I paid $90 for one for the 21/2.8 (still outrageous, but $100 less than B&H).

Heliopan makes a number of nicely-done metal lens hoods.

Edited to add: Well, I missed the “other than threaded” part, but, really, what is wrong with threaded?

Nothing wrong with threader and it’s my fallback position, but did want to see if there was something which connected to the bayonet mount. I do appreciate the pointer.

That’s a good tip. Will keep my eyes out for them.

The company Haoge seems to make a bunch of nice hoods which fit bayonet type hood mounts. Might be worth checking that out.
