That’s a good sign. We have always told the kids (skiing, bike riding, etc.) - ‘If you aren’t crashing you aren’t learning…’ - we ammended that when I started paragliding. 😂
My oldest did some proper film and dark room work this week (along with digital) and he is starting to get serious about art / design for university. He’s been struggling feeling like he’ll never get there, or even have a portfolio worth of work - so I’ve had to remind him that if he works at life drawing and making images every chance he gets in no time he’ll look back and see growth, and he’ll be able to pull together a portfolio. I realize he's young, and young folks are often striving to reach a destination (old farts, too), but the journey is where the experience is "earned and learned".
Imo, if one has the execution of continuing forward, and is heading in the right direction ... a multitude of destinations will be their reward ... many of them occurring en route to others.
Wax on. Wax off.
One other tidbit ... even snails reach their destination. They may not go fast, but they still get where they're going. Just not a lot of wasted directional changes along the way. Think about it.
