I've realized I don't technically shop on Amazon. I essentially goto the homepage and let Amazon tell me what I need. Perfect example: I went on yesterday with the intention of buying the RF 16mm for $249, somehow the $2100 RF 50L ended up in my cart, and I eventually checked out with a $500 blender and no camera gear

I stopped buying camera gear on Amazon after they shipped my last two lenses in an unpadded plastic bag.

Wow....Imagine dropping a $2k+ lens into a bag and sending it off across the country lol

I've never had any gear packed that poorly, but if I'm ordering a lens from Amazon, I almost always order 2 just in case I get someone's defective return. Often times I have some kind of promo elsewhere and can save a few bucks if I'm willing to pass up the 2-day or next day shipping on Amazon.

They have sent hard drives like that... immediately returned. Lately they've been a lot better at putting them in boxes specifically for shipping HDDs, but I get the feeling when they get super busy over holiday sales periods and run out of boxes, they revert back to their old ways...

Agree. That's why I wrote "A lot of these prices are current at B&H" in the OP.

I also stopped buying camera gear and a lot more from Amazon years ago because of the shipping packages and delivering to the wrong address.
