Technically, those are used cameras, unless the seller is an authorized Canon dealer - which would not be allowed under FM rules...

I believe those selling new gear with receipt like that R3 above have some sort of deal with an authorized dealer. They are acting as a middleman, and you get a receipt directly from that dealer in your name, same as if you bought directly from that store.

As far as the R3 goes, it has always been way overpriced imo...Great camera, not enough resolution at the price.

With someone with as many feedback as that seller it’s as good as new with the receipt. Canon would honor the warranty no matter who owns it. The only situation that would matter is if someone doesn’t want the camera and wants to return it. But everyone buying here knows what they are buying and that returns wouldn’t be possible, and all warranty issues are covered.

So presumably you have to be willing to lie to Canon and state that you are the original purchaser...?
