About 10 years ago, I owned a 35 ASPH v1 and really loved its wide-open rendering, but found the focus shift quite noticeable and annoying from ƒ/2.8-5.6. After too many missed shots, sold it off. Next, I gave the 2,8/35 ZM a try and for more than 5 years has been my standard 35 without complaints. The 35 Biogon C is a small, solidly built bit of kit, a sleeper oft overlooked. Its character comes from punchy colors, high contrast and high resolution. No discernible focus shift and it's already almost at peak resolving power wide-open. The thing never, ever flares shot into the sun. Don't see a need or point in "upgrading", though an extra stop would be nice in the right circumstance. Not much OOF blur at ƒ/2,8 either--always trade-offs in life.

+1 on the ZM 35/2.8 C.

I'm searching for the limited edition V1 silver. Preferred my old V1 Nokton black paint from the Bessa days to the V2 I have now. Can't put my finger on why that is.

Even with a film M, 35/2.8 and 35/1.4 make a great pairing for both day and night usage.

They were selling that locally not too long ago but it was so expensive. He was asking $1,600 for it and it was mint. But still. $1,600 for a Nokton f1.4 is way too much. I’m more than half way to a KOB at that point.

Nice Instagram shots of the 35 Limited.
There were 2 on eBay JP last year for 800 a piece. Sold within a few days.

Yea for $800 I would’ve done it for sure. And that one was basically like never used.
