Perhaps a continuing "initial" reaction. Looking at a couple of shots from a recent trip, I see I still, either me or bumps(?), got some changed settings. I was swapping between it and an a7Riv and found the AF-On button a tad hard to find. It's a little larger on the A7riv and the nearby "joystick" has cross hatch texturing. I like the video "switch" and the smaller size with aps-c lenses. I'm not sure I've got my "focus" or "tracking" settings preferences worked out.

Im on 1.01 so I will update later today. I will say the camera worked extremely well except for maybe some AF controls getting changed and that may have been me as I was shooting at night a dinner event outside. Worked great with flash and my one lacking point with the 16-55 Sony was I needed a 11mm as well. I was in very tight quarters on this gig. Acted a lot like the A7RV

Guy it says a lot that you felt the A6700 worked so well in your professional capacity, especially since you have used the A1 and A7RV for these types of events in the past.

Regarding the AF changing during use, I have only used the A6700 twice for longer outside shooting periods, mostly have just been around the house testing things out. (I live in the Palm Springs area and like you, it has too dang hot to go out. Yesterday was still 105F here.) But I noticed the 1st time my AF controls getting changed too. I have since turned the Touch control interface for the LCD screen Off, so the touch icons at both side and along the bottom of the screen are no longer there. I feel I may have been hitting some controls accidentally or maybe pulling the camera in and out of my smaller bag may have changed the controls, because I normally leave the camera on so it is ready to shoot. Anyway for the 2nd shoot my AF controls did not change accidentally over 3 hours of use.

It is easy enough to swipe up on the bottom of the LCD or hit the FN button to bring up the the touch interface for the items I want. Besides I like the LCD for viewing what I am photographing and don’t want it all cluttered up.

Far as the 11mm did you not have this lens only about 1 month ago

On my A9 all 3 Tamron lenses I tried would lose focus when zooming (28-75G2, 70-180G1, 35-150). I just assume it was a 3rd party lens limitation. I have a 200-600 on the way and will test with my A6700 and report back.

Wanted to say that the 200-600 did indeed stay in focus while zooming. As much as I loved the 6700 I went back to my A9. The blackout free VF and silent shooting were more important to me than I realized. Can't wait to snag a used (rumored) A9iii in 3-4 years for the sweet AI autofocus modes... I do miss those!
