We still have a small traditional livestock market locally (possibly not for much longer) - watching the farmers feign indifference and trying not to let rivals see that they are bidding yet actually not miss the right moment as they watch the pit with stock passing quickly through is marvellous theatre.
They don't really mind but I try to keep in the background as much as possible - hence the often grainy and soft focus but I like that it matches the players and environment.
A very intriguing set where the focus is solely on the bidders and not the livestock. That's where the real interest lies. Nicely photographed. I guess this is a place where you wouldn't want to inadvertantly scratch your head.
