I LOVE old barns Joachim! They have such character! Fine work here. Toms suggestion about the sky is a good one. Provides some separation between the roof and the frame. In #1 there are clouds there. Bring them out!

I am glad you liked the photos. I am always hesitant to bring in an artificial sky, something that is not there. You may say that I already altered the image converting it to B&W. So "cheating" a bit more does not make a difference. a little bit more Like Dan commented, one of the images had some faint clouds. I could bring those out somewhat.
Thank you Dan. Yes, I took Tom's suggestion as constructive and as you noticed, one of the photos has some faint clouds.
I shoot in JPEG only so, I don't really know if there are any programs capable of adding skies, etc. I doubt it.
I have an album dedicated to old fences, sheds and barns on my Flickr site. It's a topic I enjoy searching when I drive through the country side.
Dan, I went back to look at the editing I did to convert the colour photo into B&W. I played with some of the sliders and it allowed me to darken the existing clouds. Not sure how it comes across now. Your comments would be appreciated.
I agree re keeping the sky in its natural state. As for the last sky version (darkened), it looks smudged to me so I'd vote for something closer to the first.

Who knows, maybe one of these days I'll go back to RAW + JPEG and get some plug-in for dramatic skies . I just don't want to become a subscriber to SW like LR and many others that seem to go that way.
