I appreciate all of the input.
Generally, in my limited experience, if I check an image on the camera, and zoom or blow it up to the max on the screen or in the evf, if it is out of focus or blurred, I can see that it is. At the very least, I can see that it is not "perfect".
This seemed to be an unusual situation. Every image was blocky. When I double-checked what they looked like on the camera, blown up, they looked sharp, or at least normal.
I would upload more images, but I formatted the card. Most of the images were like the sample provided. At least, they were not the quality of images that I would normally keep. I was just force-feeding myself stuff to shoot as I continue to contemplate this camera and lens. Our marsh is dryer than I have ever seen it, and wildlife was sparse. But, my dearth of opportunities and trying to force-feed does not seem to be the problem...if there actually was/is one.
It might have been a setting on the camera. (?). I went through my settings and realized that I had RAW set, which I intended, but JPG was also selected with the setting for JPG quality (I think that is what it is) all the way to the right. That was an accident. But, other than that, and I don't know why that would matter in this case, all my settings were good.
I took some photos last night and they were normal. No blockiness. I am concluding it was just operator error. Like has been mentioned, a file is a file. So, hopefully I don't repeat it, or at least ascertain what I did to cause it at that time.
Thank you for the help. If it happens again, I will upload some better examples. Much appreciated.
