Can anyone explain to me what the differences are, if any? I have seen some listings on the secondary market highlighting the fact that the camera was made for the USA market, as though this was a positive attribute.

I emailed Leica nj before and they told me that leicas warranty are international and they will honor warranties for goods purchased internationally. However, I haven’t tested that out yet.

I thought that the Leica warranty only applies to the original owner is not transferrable?

If you have the receipt they'll service it. There are some reports of models being serviced without it, but better to have the receipt.

100% false.

Leica has a global warranty. You can purchase at any Leica dealer in the world and have serviced in New Jersey.

I just went through this with my APO 35. It was purchased in Europe from an Auth dealer and I sent it to NJ for free service.

It’s a global warranty, has nothing to do with where you bought it.

Is a receipt actually required? I would think the warranty card would suffice.

It has to be purchased from an authorized Leica dealer….Original purchase receipt 100% matters.
