p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · Keeping You Connected

In front of my Greenwich Village building this morning, in NYC.

There is a surge of homeless and mentally ill people in NYC walking the streets who are not being properly housed, fed, and cared for. The irony is that there are 110,000 undocumented immigrants that have arrived in NYC over the past year. By law, these immigrants are being fed and housed here at an estimated cost to taxpayers of 12 billion dollars this year. The mentally ill and homeless here long before them can be found living on the streets all over NYC. They are a forgotten and ignored segment of the city population.

A "telling" image Steve!
Signs of your statement above are everywhere today.

Whoever said the "Olde West is dead" was incorrect! "Shootout at the Fantasy Factory" is playing around here.
Keep your head on a swivel brother!

Thanks Allen. So sad, but city people unfortunately have gotten inured to it. I’m sure you see the same things in Chicago.

It is prevalent her in the "swamp" suburbs Allen and people do see it. But when the "lame stream media" report it on the evening news and confront the local officials that CAN do something, they pass it off as someone else's problem!! And there is no "follow up" by the media to see if indeed someone is doing something about it. And perhaps the media does get a response it is always "We are looking into it"! or "we are forming a committee to look into it" crap...So it dies.

One of the largest groups of homeless are veterans. And how a politician can hold up the appointment of a commandant of the Marine Corps is beyond me. Just like seeing police being beaten with American flags by those committing treason is beyond anything I thought I would ever see. Just glad my father can't see it. He was on Omaha Beach on D-Day. He saw the real impact of authoritarianism first hand.

Well said Allen.

It's the homeless women who especially make me sad. I carry cash for them but I'm not kidding myself. While they're grateful I know it's only a second in their sad lives.
