When I'm wandering around the cars shows and come upon an interesting vehicle I will typically ask the owner if they would mind closing the hood and/or trunk lid so I can make a nicer image. In my mind the body lines make more sense if these details are addressed. I've only had a couple of people refuse and a couple that were not thrilled with the extra effort they had to put forth but complied anyway. I understand that the hoods and trunks are open so the judges can see the work done in those compartments but I've never encountered a judge that didn't understand what I was doing and allowed me the courtesy of finishing my photos before doing what they were there to do.

With all that said......I wish I had the time to spend more time with this beautifully restored 1954 Cadillac convertible including requesting the hood and trunk be closed. It was quite a specimen to be sure. I was drawn to it right away from a distance and was not disappointed with the find when I got closer. I am only going to attend one more show this year and it's pretty much right in my back yard in a couple of weeks. Perhaps he will be at that show and I can spend the proper amount of time to do this car justice.

I hope you enjoy viewing these three quick captures for now.

+1 for various challenges of car shows. The Caddy looks like a nice one (as described).

Looking forward to seeing the others, too. My mind is taking these into mono conversion for some classic, classic.

Yes the challenges of car shows......
Beautiful compositions "LB"! Just something about the olde classics. Built like a tank and so much to enjoy!

Thanks for the atta boy Mr Bug.
The biggest challenge I've found with regards to car shows is getting someone to spend $4 for a half way decent image of their pride and joy.

Thanks Dan.
One thing for sure...they certainly didn't skimp on the chrome back in the day....even in the interior.

I have lust for old Caddilacs. My grandfather drove around in a black 1955 Caddy. It was a beautiful boat, a premier luxury vehicle at the time. I’m sure it never got more than 8 miles/gallon.
Excellent photos Larry that bring back memories.
