This is sort of a strange request, but here goes. I have been shooting landscapes for over 40 years and am sort of getting tired of the "literal, tack-sharp look" and want more of a textured, soft, artistic look to my color fine art prints that I produce on Epson Pro 3800 . I want to have an overlay or an overall texture program that offers a softer, more artistic appearance that I can use in Lightroom. I do NOT want "brush strokes" program or a "gaudy, painterly look" program. I have searched the internet and have not found anything that comes near to the "look" that I am trying to achieve.

I've enclosed some screen shot samples of sort of appearance from actual artists work that I would like to achieve. I would appreciate any leads or suggestions.

Use in Lightroom.

Try playing with negative clarity and sharpness in LR and create presets, for different zones, somewhat like using gaussian blur in PS

You may want to stay away from PS, but if you dare,
I suggest watching some of Sean Bagshaw's video's on Utube for additonal idea's. He's a master at editing, and creating different effects. Most of his work is based around luminosity masks in PS..

Those looks like canvas or wood "textures" that are overlayed on an image. There are millions of "lightroom texture packs" out there.

Forget the LR tools. You probably need to invent your own methods for this in Photoshop. Maybe collect your own library of textures, etc. Expect to research different tutorials and other artists with similar look..

Would be very interested to follow what comes out of this. You have vision and you want to find the tools the achieve this. Usually it's the other way around, people find their 'vision' from the tools they use (and end up looking just like everyone else)

Very nice images. I get what you're trying to do. I work with Lr, Ps, some Affinity apps, etc. Don't have a specific recipe but I am usually successful creating what I feel by just 'mucking about' till it works.

Photomatix Pro has Painterly and offers many different unique looks. Like others I have tons of free presets. I have quite a few free ones from this site.

Maybe you can take a look at Corel painter / Painter essentials.

Topaz Studio 2 can do something simpler, I sometimes like it too bad it's discontinued.
