I dont think the 16-35GMii would be too big. It would still be smaller than the APSC 17-70mm lens

That said, I think a 65mm, 85mm or 90mm would be a better fit if your zoom ends at 35mm.

Yes, but right now I only have primes. Had been thinking of what lenses would I sell to clean house for the 16-35 and have it to cover the 35 FOV, where I like to shoot. Sell the Samyang 18, 24 f1.8, 35 f1.8 and 45 and a couple of others in the budget category. Since I don't have a 50, the new Sigma would be my middle prime, when not going with the zoom. Keep the wide prime pairings covered as-is with Voigtlander 15 and 21 f3.5. As they say, no lens is wasted.

On a related topic- what do folks think of the 24mm f2?

I’m looking to pick up a lightweight 24mm for my A7RV and debating between the Sigma f2 and Samyang f1.8

I shot both these lenses side by side recently on A7C, and I've had multiple copies of each over the fast couple of years.

The Samyang is a fantastic lens for the money - super light and small, it is a great match with the A7C body. It's very sharp and has relatively low CA for a Samyang lens, and it has a neat infinity focus feature for astro.

However, using the Sigma after the Samyang is kind of like putting on a pair of glasses for the first time - you get this new rich world of colours and contrast with smoother rendering. Beautiful lens. It also has an aperture ring, AF/MF switch and better build quality. It's noticeably heavier on the A7C, but it's still relatively small and light, and personally I'm happy to put up with the extra size/weight for the benefits it brings.

We're lucky to have either lens on the e-mount system for a compact option
