I think here in the metro, it's week 5 actually....I think I'm not accounting for 0 week. Oh well, to me it's week 4.

Did not cover my normal teams due to oddly both being away. So - figured I'd check out the Westside vs Millard North game. I think Westside is #1 in the state and this was not much of a game....well, for Millard North.

Really hard to follow and get in pace since it was one huge play after another. There were really no sustain drives to strategize angles and backgrounds and since I was there for fun...I refused to make big movement jumps to catch up to each big play.

Anyways - only stayed the first half and struggled to work these selects up.

C&C always welcomed.

Very nice set.

Image #1 is pretty amazing considering the ISO6400.

How many shots do you take during an average game? My 1st game 3 weeks ago I took just over 600. The game this past Friday was just over 1200. Single camera, single lens.

The first game there were very few other photographers. Last Friday had two top ten teams and there were at least 45-50 photographers, videographers, etc on the sidelines. Nowhere to roam!!

What's with the tape on the white helmets in your shots?

How many shots per game

Good question. Maybe around 1200-1500 over two bodies. My basic workflow managing this quantity:

- chimping between plays/timeouts to tag worthy shots of clients and peak shots
- download tagged shots first in Photo Mechanic (PM). If it's a crowded game, I'll bring my laptop and download and select in the parking lot and let all the impatient people wait in line.
- Within PM, I'll further cull down the tagged shots and then import those selects into LRC
- Download non-tagged shots into PM, cull, and then import to LRC

Depending on client or other photo requirements, I usually end up with 200-300 pics in LRC where only about 1/2 get released to clients/customers.

As for the tape on the helmets?

. Short of a long story and from what I know from urban legends....early in this school's football program, the head coach got frustrated with the top part of the chin straps constantly popping off...so he taped some of the players up and overtime, I believe it's now a ritual to get your helmet tapped.
