Spent a week in Katmai last month. It was a good year for salmon which means there were plenty of bears.

Please view in the lightbox as they look much better. I still haven't figured out how to upload so things look sharp on this page.

Wow, great work Dan, and the first 4 shots really show the power and speed of these creatures when on the hunt.

Terrific set of images!
The eye level shooting angle looks great.
They look sharp on my screen but maybe posting larger versions would look even better.
Got my vote.

Appreciate the comment, Morris. And thanks for jarring my brain. Somehow I changed the zoom in my browser to 125 percent. Back to 100 and it looks much better.

Thanks so much, Dave. I'm always amazed how many people just stand upright behind their tripod when simply sitting/kneeling down can make so much difference.

Wow! Incredible set of images!

All these are so cool! They are all top self quality, but if I had to pick one fave....#5, hands down with the stop-motion capture of the water along with the fish grab/kill.

Thanks for the kind words. Catching a fish in mid-air used to be the holy grail. Still somewhat unique but much easier nowadays with higher frame rates.
