As one who really likes my X-S10 I wonder if fellow FM forum members who have an X-S10 have upgraded, or plan to upgrade, to the X-S20. If you have upgraded, what was the primary reason for the upgrade? TIA
I was hoping you'd see responses to this so I could benefit as well.
I have an X-T30II modified for infrared and am thinking about an X-S10 or X-S20 to use the same lenses. I don't know whether the 20 is worth the extra dollars compared to the 10.
Like you, Doug, I'm disappointed that we have heard from no one.
I'm thinking that soon Fuji will drop the price on the X-S10 and make it an even better deal vs. the X-S20 than it is now. In the meantime, I'm loving my X-10 and don't plan to upgrade to the X-S20.
I own and use the x-s10. Not going for the 20. Maybe if it had the xh2 evf. I don’t care about video. I would appreciate the better battery life and AF but not enough to buy

Longer battery life is nice since you cant get a grip. But most long time Fuji users are used to carrying a few spares around anyways.
It's nice to get access to improved AF tracking and another film sim.
These are all incremental things though. I tend to think of worthy Fuji upgrades every-other model. If you got an XS10 it seems the real upgrade path is an XH2/2s.
I will say though that 10-bit 4:2:2 video is huge if you do color grading.
I wonder if by the time you get the model that succeeds the xs20, you have a camera the same price as the xh2 is now. Xh2s is a bit more so maybe not that expensive.
I’m tempted by either a xh2 or skipping over to full frame eventually. I have a lot more to learn before I can justify it.

ottokbre... I tend to agree with you about an every-other model upgrade .... the XH2/2S is too big/heavy and too expensive for me...
I got X-S10 from fuji refurb site and had severe GAS which ended up in me purchasing X-S20 as well. After using both for few weeks, I sold X-S20. I'm hobby photographer and usually do family, friends and some street. I didn't see any benefits of the upgrade unless you are into video. Battery on X-S10 is plenty for my use case. AF on both X-S10 and X-S20 are lacking compared to my full frame Sony system.
I've been waffling back and forth between the X-S10 and the X-S20 for months wondering whether the AF was worth the extra money on the newer model. It sounded like most of the updated features were videocentric in the reviews I've watched but the AF was supposed to be massively improved too.
I have no interest in video so I'm glad to learn that the AF alone may not be enough to justify the 30% price difference for my use.
My views on XS-20 as a XT4, XT5, X100V, and Sony A7IV user (tested XS20 in couple of indoor portrait sessions):
I was closely associated with the Fujifilm India Sales team till I moved to US in October this year for my Postdoctoral research career in Cancer biology, and this was the camera that I wanted to bring to US with me, unfortunately I couldn't.
What I liked the most about XS-20 is the grip and the subject tracking. It is really like a mini XH2S. Plus the support for NP-W235 battery on XS-20 was an added advantage. I mainly shot portraits of models, Instagram influencers, kids and family portraits (also did weddings in past with XT4 and Sony A7IV) back in India.
I found XS-20 ergonomics more close to my Sony A7IV. On XT5 I find it quite difficult to balance heavy lenses and that's the main reason I have to sell my XF50mm f/1.0 as it was difficult to work with it on XT5 with its minimum grip. At certain points even XF 56mm f/1.2 WR and 90mm f2 LM WR start to feel front heavy on XT5.
Unfortunately Fujifilm India couldn't arrange XS-20 for me as it was already popular in India before the launch and was being backordered for entire of September-October months. And, somehow Fuji India convinced me that XS20's lack of weather sealing will make it unusable in the weather of the city I am moving to in US, esp. in winters.
During XS-20 usage what I didn't liked about XS20 is its viewfinder, I mean it becomes difficult to work on viewfinders of XS, XT-20, 30, XE and similar series once you use the viewfinder of cameras like A7IV, or even fuji bodies like XH2 and XH2S.

I'm off to the camera store tomorrow.....
I am curious about your trip to camera store. Did you make a decision?
