I used to have a good system worked out, but I’m using more iPad these days and I’m trying to push more to Lightroom as a cloud backup. But as a result I’ve gotten a lot less organized with local copies. Additionally I’ll occasionally use iPad or iPhone to pull off camera and cull before uploading to LR. Curious what people have found especially with a mobile workflow to stay organized.

I take enough memory cards and wait until I get home to add to the catalog and work on the images. This may not work for those who stay on the road for long periods of time but for my short trips I’m fine with waiting.

I had a couple of tablets, but let them expire. I replaced them with an ultra-light laptop. The weight difference is less than a half pound considering that the laptop has two 4TB internal SSDs that would require clunky external SSDs, cables, hub, etc. on a tablet, and they all use the same mini GaN PD power supplies these days.

Makes sense, for me it’s more I carry a work laptop already and rarely want to fire up one for fun anymore. IPad LR gets most editing done, so I could go back to a PC but not eager too.
