I am posting in this forum because I suspect that this is where I will find the information that I need. I need a backpack to hike with a D850/400 2.8 + D850/70-200 + tripod along with accessories. The pack that I am using is just painful after 1/2 mile. So what are you guys using to cart the big lenses for miles?

A bit of history before I tell you my pack experience's! I've had numerous surgeries. Two knee replacements, and two bones removed from my thumb joints. I have back issues. Thanks to 30 years with FedEx. I am starting to work on my core again. But at 65 it's difficult. Plus the wife has health issues, going in and out of hospitals. So my time is limited. My gear is the Sony A7IV, Sony 24-105 and Sony 100-400. I also have the Sigma 105 macro and assorted accessories. I don't carry everything when I'm out and about. I am now using a Cotton Carrier G3 Harness when i'm out and about. Big difference carrying gear, even my limited amount.
I'm done with camera backpacks! I've tried the following. Guru Gear, excellent pack but massive. I tried the 30 and 22l.
Think Tank 36, 26 and 18. Again, nice bags, but already heavy without gear. And every one I received from B & H was damaged. I also tried the Urban Access 15. This was my favorite for gear storage. Lots of room. But was uncomfortable for me.
Shimoda. Nice bag again, probably the most comfortable bag I tried, but for my needs? Way too expensive.
F-Stop Loka. I found this one ok, but again, this one came damaged.
Wandrd PRVKE 31 and 21. Nice layout. Lots of pockets, but found their camera cubes limiting. And they just didn't feel right on my back. Even empty.
I was considering trying the Atlas packs but again, too expensive for me.

At the moment I'm using my old, really old Lowepro Flipside 200 to transport my camera and Sony 100-400 to my local destination. If I travel? I have a Think Tank Stash Master that I put in my Carryon Luggage.

Next up? I'm going to try a hiking backpack. They are light right out of the gate, under 2 lbs. There are others here that use a dedicated hiking pack.
