This must still be a pretty popular camera because I am now in the market for one and I have been following the buy and sell for about a month now and they are scarce. I don't know if I've seen one in the last three or four weeks even listed.
I would think with all the fancy new mirrorless offerings by Canon those who have to have the latest and greatest would be unloading an otherwise fully functioning professional, level camera.
When can I expect to see one with a fairly low shutter count in the thousand dollar range?
I bought two 5DIV's about a month before the R was announced and have no plans of transitioning to mirrorless. I tempered my GAS a longtime ago but you might find someone who's buying the marketing efforts and wants to go that way. I'd continue looking at the classified section and eBay for clean examples, I'm sure their out there.
I've had my R5 for over 6 months now but having a very hard time letting go of my 5D4. It is a trusted camera that does its job very well. The only problem is all the duplicate lenses that go with it.
The 5D IV is definitely considered a workhorse... I've had my R5 for well over a year, but I have not sold my 5D IV. It does not get much use, but it is still my backup, and I still love the quality of the images it produces. I suspect a lot of people are in the same boat.

Have you checked other places? I've seen 3 or 4 5DIVs for sale on Facebook Marketplace in the past couple of weeks. I'm in a big city though, so that may change it. I think they were all under 1K.
The 5D4 is an excellent camera, made lensrentals top 10 last year. None of the Nikon or Sony mirrorless still cameras did, A7S3 made it but that is probably video for the most part
5D III's are not plentiful either. I just got a nice one with the Canon grip for $450. Put it back to factory settings and put in mine. Very happy with it and my R6 is not jealous.

and who says that 5D4 made it over there for stills ?
And I will wait. About $1200 sitting in Paypal ready to go. I did just buy a G5X off of Ebay for $200 to tide me over. I had one before and liked it plus it takes an external flash which is important to me. 14 megapixels. So what. I have many great photos from my old 5D and that was less.
I was just at a popular wildlife photography location and many photographers were using mirrored cameras (except the Sony users). I don't think as many folks have switched to mirrorless as the demographic in this forum.
Also, my daughter just took my last mirrored body (5Ds) off to college so, I'm in that boat.
