Hey Mike,
Yes, window reflections can be wonderfully kaleidoscopic but also a kind of creative crutch. I've done my share and rejected many of them. Still, you are correct, the other-worldly quality of reflections can be mysterious and, yeah, fun.
By the by, Eugène Atget was perhaps the first street photographer who photographed shop windows and the reflections therein.
