Recently out-of-towners have been visiting these wetlands in my neck of the woods for some prime bird watching- someone must have gotten the word out that theres a lot of watching to be had.
The irony is that these wetlands, and the park itself, was built on the city's dumping ground between the 50's through the 70's. The renovated park opened up in the 90's with astroturf athletic fields- the whole park smells like plastic in summer's heat- and yet, its progress nonetheless...
