Very strange for Sony to have a 'new' camera (11 months old) for sale already: $400 off!
I bought mine just over a month ago so am peeved.

Well B&H mailed out a "ShowBook" full of specials for their BILD Expo that is later this week. In it, they advertise the Sony A7RV including a couple of accessories for $1998!!

Sadly for me, they wouldn't sell it to me at that price . They did acknowledged they had a printing error in the mailer.

I just purchased my A7RV a couple weeks ago, local shop... Does anyone know if Sony would rebate retroactive? Probably not..

Didn’t see it at B&H but that doesn’t mean they aren’t offering it. Might be worth a call. My local dealer is offering it so I do know it isn’t just Adorama.

EDU discount takes it further down to $2913.3. Who's gonna buy their new A7CR

Also, I suspect we will see a flood of NIB A7RVs on this forum in the coming weeks arbitrating for a few hundred bucks. Mark my words!!!

I called and the B&H trade-up deal won't stack with EDU discounts, but will apply to the normal price. Note that on B&H it only had a pretty small selection of items that I could select to get it. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/promotion/18667/sony-end-of-summer-trade-in.html

Adorama may be different, they have an EDU email / number to call. Note their bag isn't nearly as good

This is very common in the camera world in general and a pattern specifically with Sony. If you're not a fan I recommend waiting at least 6 months and there will virtually always be a similar discount of the latest and greatest Sony camera.

There were times when the supply of new cameras was short for whatever reasons. Now, unless I really “need” the camera so badly, I refrain from placing a pre-order on new cameras. Case in point, the new A7c R…

apparently B&H took the A7RV off the EDU discount.... looks like it was also around $3500 before with this discount.

I still see it for $2913, says till Sept 10, before I saw something saying till Sept 17.

Yes I occasionally see it at $3500 but a refresh and adding to cart shows up at $2913 with or without all the accessories like the thinktank bag.

Where do you see the date?

Click on the "With Accessories Kit" and you will see. They removed it on just the body but who gets just body when the "Accessories Kit" is getting EDU discount :-)
