I was fortunate this summer to be able to photograph two species of Loons. One was my usual work with common loons in the Adirondack mountains of upstate NY. But I was also able to photograph Red-throated loons in breeding plumage on nesting habitat as well. Special experience.
I'll split into two posts. Common Loons (Gavia immer) here and Red-throated in the next.
