I need a simple bounce flash for this Saturday and don’t want to use the heavy Godox V or buy a soon obsolete 430. Question, does the Speedlite EL-5 also support the Canon R5?

To use the EL-5, you need a newer camera with the Multi-Function Shoe shoe, e.g., R3, R6 MK II, R7, etc. The smaller EL-100 will work in the old style hot shoe.
