Suzanne and I had a great trip to the Middleburg area of N. Virginia...horse Country!
This church and school are for the 1800's. I had a hard time deciding to present this in just b/w of some other tonal coloring.

Thanks brother! It was destined to be torn down because it was in Confederate country and some N.Virginians wanted to "sanitize" our History.
Luckily sanity won out here. But lately that has NOT been the case. Many schools re-named. Many highways also.
The city next to us also did the same thing. Even removed the statue of a olde Supreme Court Justice, because he didn't vote the way today's mindset wanted!

No cross on the church steeple?
No my friend. The reason.....Locals say one day it was there. The next day it was gone. It was wooden so I can only speculate from the 1800's post Civil War.

Thanks for your comment. Yes I do believe that a more "period-esque" post processing would enhance this. I gave great amount of thought to doing just what you suggest plus a more sepia tone but, for now, decided to leave it as is.
I will try it and post for your advice.
