Your comment had me go back and double-check the exif! Indeed it was f/1.2 (1/40 s at iso800). The lens was the CV 40/1.2.
I was definitely surprised by the apparent dof as well. I think a couple things enter. First, the focal point is far enough away that with 40mm focal length, quite a lot is in good enough focus. Second is that even a quite modest use of clarity slider in C1 recovers a surprising amount of crispness. Finally, downsizing to 2000 pixels long side to post here also buys some apparent dof - the full size image at 100% definitely shows some oof blur.

Absolutely gorgeous. Love the tonal control with deep blacks and excellent detail throughout. Considering your distance from the boats, the dof from a 40mm lens seems appropriate. I assume you're using that lens on a body with IS, because it sure is sharp.

Thanks Brent. The body is a sony a7riii and the ibis definitely makes a huge difference for walk-around dusk photography (I don't do many pre-dawn walkarounds...). With the stabilization and the f/1.2 Nokton, it can get quite dark!
