Went for a walk to photograph some birds and ran into a cricket match instead. I was only there for about 25 minutes, but the teams were so excited. Made a really nice change from the major attitude that comes off some organizations. All shot with an R3 and 600 f4 + 1.4x ... If you know cricket you'll have a good idea of just how seriously far it is from the boundary line to the batter or bowler. As always, C&C welcome, particularly from those who now the game.

The funniest thing about the first shot is that the batter only scored a single and it was definitely not a pivotal moment in the game. The catcher was very expressive no matte what was happening on the pitch.

Low angle, tight crop, and incredible facial expressions make all these pop for me and then add the nice details, colors, and a blown-out background for the win. Excellent set!

So what about the birds....get any

? Sounds like something I would be a part of.

No birds that day. The next day was far better for feathers, although more than a little bit overloaded with bay-breasted and Cape May warblers. I did, though, get some nice video with the doubled 600mm of a heron preening. At some point I'll get better organized and post some up on the nature board.
