I can still remember the pain of separation when I sold my 300/2.8 and 500/4.0 and went all in with a rangefinder system. It definitely impacts the kind of shooting you do.

Previously I used monopod so in this case I had to get as close as possible - the 'Sir' is very generous in what they allow me to do.
Yeah, long glass = weight which has become a disincentive. The heat index was +109°F, kicked my butt, and I left after 1st quarter - contest was well out of hand at that point anyway.
