Hi all,

Back to posting again.Been a while since I have been on the site, but have been shooting constantly. I've always found ring-necked pheasants to be tough to shoot, as they tend to be extremely skittish. This one however was very bold and I was able to get some decent pics. All pictures taken April of this year, in Fish Creek Park, here in Calgary. Hope you enjoy and nice to be posting to the forum again.

Great shots of what I consider the most colourful large bird in North America. The males are a lot less skittish when out to impress a female.

Thanks Tony and you are right. The male here was definitely trying to impress the females in the area.

You really captured some unique poses of a normally hard-to-photograph pheasant.

Very nice images. Spring is certainly the best time to catch them with their guard down just a bit, but that only goes so far!!!

Thanks Kim, it looks as if he was trying to impress the females, so he was not too concerned with the photographer
