I disagree with the comment about the goggle glare. As a former swimmer myself, the reflectivity is a good thing. There's a small part of an athlete that wants to be seen as a "machine," and removing the eye by using a reflective coated goggle plays into that.
Thanks, The goggle glare, from a white umbrella, is as shot on the left, I pulled some in on the right to balance it out. You never really could see his eyes behind the goggles. The light on his skin kind of dictates the intensity of the light on the surrounding surfaces. If they weren't like that it would look off and not continuous.
