I'm curious what settings others use during weddings when shooting stills with the R6? I shoot exclusively on manual exposure, but am looking to streamline the workflow and be more in the moment with the the crowd than monitoring all the info in the viewfinder! No AF info needed.

C1 > Av wide open, metered 2/3 stop down, camera picks shutter and ISO — generic available light shooting

C2 > Tv 1/160th sec, camera picks aperture and ISO — available light, indoors, locking in a faster shutter than what Canon would normally give in C1

C3 > same as C2 but with silent shutter (for tense getting-ready moments when bride is ready to kill her Mom)

All flash work in M

This is very useful. Thank you. Obviously, the auto ISO has to be set for the camera to choose. What's the highest setting you use? I'm hesitant to go above 5000, but the R6 is really good at high ISO. Thanks again.

I never use Auto ISO while in AV or TV mode.
But I am used to shooting and set iso for appropriate light at location.

I use AV mode and some P mode.
But I am riding the exposure compensation on both.

We have ours capped at 12,000 but don't shoot there often. 4,000 is usually to the top end.

I'm often amazed how clean a well-exposed ISO2000 (or more) image is from the R6. Face right up to an XDR 6k monitor and it's so appealing. What little noise is there looks like ISO100 film grain. How far we've come! For years, you had to process to hide High ISO shadows from Canon CMOS. Not anymore :-)

That's the benefit of smaller mega pixel cameras. With a pixel pitch of 6.54µm you get more light gathering capability. Plus, you can easily print 3'x2' photo.
