Yes, just another Heron
This one was photographed in the morning at 1120mm using a Z9 looking into the sun.
I've been hesitant using the 800mm lens in a kayak, it is too limiting when you cannot zoom in and out with your feet. A zoom lens is much better.
However 1120mm let me photography this heron at a distance that did not get the bird into a defensive posture, he's hunting for breakfast at Miller Creek.
I think back to my early days of SLR photography using my Olympus OM1. The days of manual focus; when high speed meant 400/800 speed Ektachrome. Now with eye autofocus; high ISO capability; Lighter/longer/better lenses so much more is possible. Then add Photoshop. Makes me realize how much photography has changed.
