Yes, just another Heron
This one was photographed in the morning at 1120mm using a Z9 looking into the sun.
I've been hesitant using the 800mm lens in a kayak, it is too limiting when you cannot zoom in and out with your feet. A zoom lens is much better.
However 1120mm let me photography this heron at a distance that did not get the bird into a defensive posture, he's hunting for breakfast at Miller Creek.
I think back to my early days of SLR photography using my Olympus OM1. The days of manual focus; when high speed meant 400/800 speed Ektachrome. Now with eye autofocus; high ISO capability; Lighter/longer/better lenses so much more is possible. Then add Photoshop. Makes me realize how much photography has changed.

This is a super photo Bob. I agree having lots of reach allows for photographing wildlife without changing there behavior. It is why you sometimes see me adding the 1.7x TC to my 500 PF on crop body. The new technology is simply amazing and every time I come home there are some photos that I could not have made in the past.
