Handheld timelapse question

I'm looking for some advise on an efficient way to make a timelapse video. I'm having an addition built on my house, and have been taking pictures each day at the end of the day to document progress. But, since I don't want to leave my camera or tripod out in the yard for 3 months, I've just been taking the pictures from the same location, but hand held. I've been using the same focal length and trying to get the framing pretty close.

I was figuring I'd use LR or PS to stack and align the images. I came across LRTimelapse which looks like a good option for creating the timelapse after I have everything aligned. I guess my question is would this be my best bet? Can I align the stack in LR, crop them all together with the same crop settings, then pull those edits into LRTimelapse?

I would suggest that you put a camera level stake in the ground to rest on to ensure you are in the same position every time to minimize the alignment cropping needed. As you align your images you'll lose FOV and pixels due to the this if the images are not well aligned., so without a fixed tripod a good hard reference might help.

LR cannot align a stack, you'll need to export to PS in layers and align the layers then crop there. Make your overall edits in LR before opening in PS.
