One of the advantages of the Sony A1 is its 30 fps capability, albeit used sparingly.
While any one of these would most likely satisfy the league requirements, I though it would be fun for those shooting sports to see which one in series they would have preferred to send to the league. Maybe helpful for others viewing to indicate why you choose the one you did.
# 3 is best from a "this is where the ball is going" perspective. But the red winching player on the right gives it an odd feel. And that's a harder picture to crop. If you straighten the horizon line (which needs to be done) you put the ball pretty close to the right edge if you crop out winching Red.
Well, without cropping, none of them. My rule is to never trust a photo editor to do the job well. Give it to them in the required format, but cropped the way you like it. Or close as you can get.
If it's 6:4, I'd probably pick #2. Depending on how well the RAW holds up and what it's going to be used for, I might try to take it down to a head and ball crop.

No criticism taken Henry. Many photogs have a standing set of requirements from the team/league they shoot for. In my case, we have reasonably competent personnel who will edit to what they need for distribution so that allows me to shoot/provide a bit wider set. The hard fact is that the 3rd shot was the last one with the ball and unfortunately contained a partial player on the right which is not ideal. If the team uses the shot they will no doubt crop him out.
The real question I ask myself is why I didn't crop him out to begin with. Frankly I flat missed it and shouldn't have. In the rush to meat team guidelines to provide jpgs from the field by the 85th minute of the match I cut corners and didn't review the set before transmitting. Note to self taken .

Interestingly, I chose #3 the the player on the right cropped out before I saw or red the last comment. i prefer seeing the face of the red player and better separation between them. By the way I like your idea to post several choices. Bruce
