I'm very happy with the results I got with the lens. I also think it is very resistant to flare, I took some test shots directly at sun and there wasn't much loss of contrast or veiling flare at all. I didn't include those shots in these albums though. Looking forward to using the lens more

Thanks for these!

Many many examples of what I was generally hoping for with regard to the 50/1.2. Just lovely rendering overall as one would hope out of CV. I can see that the lens handles a variety of shooting situations quite nicely and am excited to add this to make my travel kit complete.

CV lens philosophy just resonates with me (and many others I'm sure) in that the images produced just evokes an emotive response and connection. I have technically near perfect Fuji lenses (XF 23mm/1.4 LM WR, 33mm/1.4 LM WR, 90mm/2 LM WR) if and when I want that kind of image...but for pure enjoyment of the process and art, those don't come close to what CV lenses add and I am so glad we are getting such a nice suite of options for native X-mount.

Perhaps at some point try some zone focus shooting for those high activity street festival situations...I know 75mm effective focal length can be a bit tight and honestly mostly I would use a 50ish effective focal length for that but I do use 75ish too so I appreciate that you took many examples of this style of subject like this as well.

Now I only hope I can get a hold of one of these before my next trip next month...we'll see when we have access to them here

Some more samples from this weekend with my X-S10 & this Voigtländer Nokton 50/1.2 for X-mount. The weather was pretty nice so I did a lot of shooting. Enjoying this lens quite a bit

Thanks for these Juha! Wow, good job focusing the action from Konno Hachimangu Matsuri.

As usual it seems like I'll have to wait for a good while until I find it at a retailer where the import taxes aren't gonna murder me.

Thanks very much! It was a nice exercise trying to focus on the action manually at f1.2, I took a lot of shots trying to track the action (no bursts at all) and there were many that were not in great focus but with enough volume I could find enough in-focus shots as well

Great samples Juha. It shows the lens performs at high level but also has special rendering.

Another great set showcasing the wonderful qualities of this CV lens, thanks for sharing! I am very excited for this lens and where there's a will there's a way...I got one coming from Japan. Apparently there was some holiday over the weekend so the shipping center has been closed but it should be heading out soon!

Would love to see more photos where ever you and the lens head out next

Well it has arrived! Brand new and straight from Japan courtesy of MapCamera. First impressions are that it is a nice piece of glass for sure with a good solid build as is the norm for CV. It is actually quite small for a 50/1.2 considering its optical design and is about the same size as the Nokton 58mm/1.4 SL II I had in another mount but is actually 30g lighter.

It looks and feels very well balanced on my X-T5 and along with the other small CV lenses I have will be a joy to travel with. Unfortunately where I live is not the most photogenic location but I do have an upcoming trip to the west usa where I will definitely get to see how this lens performs for myself for traveling. However a few test photos I managed today yielded nice nice preliminary results

Weather has still been hot, humid and with occasional downpours during the day here unfortunately. Had a bit of time between projects I'm doing (non photo related) so I been taking some sample shots here and there around the house.

Here are a few from this weekend testing out the MFD at wide open f1.2 with lower levels of ambient illumination. Yes I know...an act of desperation perhaps but I've got 2 upcoming trips this month that will not only have cooler weather but will also have many many opportunities to flex this lens a bit

Looks like it doesn't have a hard stop for infinity. Love a small tele for landscape, so that would have been nice. The 27mm has a hard stop for perfect infinity focus. That things stays glued to my X-E4. I just ordered the 50mm. Currently have the 23/27/35. Wish they made an 18 as other have stated.

Yes, only the 27/2 has perfect infinity right at hard stop and the other 5 CV X-mount lenses all allow focusing a bit further and therefore need more work for careful infinity focusing. I have now 5 out of 6 and just missing the 35/0.9 which I'm not planning to get (35/1.2 and 35/2 are enough). If CV makes the 18mm, I hope they'd make it as a pair of 27/2 with similar styling and same hard infinity design. They might as they also have 28/2.8 and 40/2.8 in M-mount with similar retro styling between the two.

I can confirm this.
So far only the 27/2 has perfect infinity hard stop. None of the others Voigtlander X-mount lenses do.

I share Nick's opinion, and I believe the 27/2 lens is ideal for the X-E4. It's my default lens when shooting with this camera.

This lens appears to be another niche product. The size is actually about the same as VM Nokton 50/1.2 and the weight is 54 g lighter. Using the VM lens on Fuji requires a thin adapter which is 11 mm thick and 50 g, but the VM can be used on both FF and APS-C while the X-mount can not. When compared to the Ultron VM 75/1.9 on FF, it is slightly shorter but slightly fatter and weights the same. While the rendering can be a bit different from the two VM lenses, I find it hard to justify the cost. For one, I find it harder to justify than Nokton 35/1.2 X-mount because 35/1.2 X is at least significantly smaller than alternative options either on FF or APS-C. Of course if you don't mind the cost, I am sure it will be a great companion for your Fuji camera.

The Voigtlander 50mm f/1.2 X is quite nice for portraits. It has a great balance of sharpness with beautiful rendering. I will start a review tomorrow on it.

Nice examples Fred. I got mine today and was quite surprised how well it matched up with the X-E4. It balances well in my opinion

Anyone using a Voigtlander 50mm f1.2 X notice the absence of a Depth of Field (blue bar)? I am using a X-S10 body and it works correctly on the 23mm f1.2 X. I am trying to figure out if it is just a quirk or user error? Thanks.

I just tested and I have the blue depth of field scale present on my X-S10 with CV 50/1.2 X-mount lens. At f1.2 the dof can be so narrow that the dof scale is hiding behind the white focus distance marker but it widens up when stopping down.

Those are nice and definitely show the strength of this lens for portraits...it is such a great FL for this. The lighting and the rendering of the lighting on the 1st is very nice.

I often like a short tele for landscapes when I go hiking and so took this lens with me a few months back on a trip to Utah to do some hiking and fall foliage viewing while trying out this nice gem.

I had an enjoyable experience using this lens and it is such a nice size and weight on the XT-5 and although not nearly as small as the 23/1.2 and 35/1.2 it was not that much larger. It was easily packable with a few other lenses for a nice compact kit.

Now since we got a sweet little CV 18mm/2.8 nearly here it would be nice to eventually see a CV X mount 75mm/1.5 in the works...the dream continues
