Your yak'ing has turned into a real producer! Those are all great, and a nice variety for one outing. Your steady hand has really begun to show in this environment too. Impressive.

Always handheld. I've tried using a monopod but I find it too cumbersome. Also a better chance of banging something on the boat and I need to be as stealthy as possible. Definitely no room for a tripod. I started shooting from a kayak a few years ago and it's been a game changer. And now switching from my D500 to the quiet Z9 has also been a big help.

I'd say that was one heck of a kayak ride, excellent set Gary. That first shot is over the top and water is incredible and really sets the subject apart.

I always go in the morning. Best time of the day imo. I've often thought of going to this location in the evening to try for some warmer light but I like mornings because I have the place to myself. Every once in a while another kayaker will show up but only after I've already got three hours of shooting in and I'm on my way out
