This fellow appears occasionally near my cottage. Somehow he navigates the world with one eye. We should all be so resilient... shot with the 300 f/4.5 AI-s ED-IF mounted on a Df.

Mia decided to hang out in the flower bed just below the bird feeders, of course while I was waiting for the various birds and squirrels to come feed. Needless to say, I had to choose between photographing birds and the cat. As she is getting older and prefers to spend most of her time indoors this was an opportunity I don't often get. I should point out she has long since given up any idea of catching any prey.

I have heard this on Animal Planet. Many animals somehow keep depth perception with one eye. Dr Pol of NatGeo Wild has said it many times. I have worked with 2 one eyed guys and they drove cars with no problem.

I think that is evidence of how incredibly powerful is the brain, that it can extrapolate when put in situations like this... without a second thought. Hopefully we'll not be asked to perform such feats but it is comforting to know how much resilience there is in the body... feline or otherwise...
