Hi Kim. This is kind of my thoughts as well. Having said that, I think we grow as we try new / different ideas. Sometimes experiments leads to later successes of greater magnitude. Good for you for thinking outside of traditional thought.
John
I tend to agree, John. It was a bit of weekly commitment to spend time with them so when the light gave me what I thought to be lemons, I tried for the lemonade.

Hi Kim. It's obvious you have a creative eye, you took advantage of some unique opportunities to do the silhouettes. My picks are #4 and #5.
I would favor more ISO to get more shutter speed instead of the blurry. They work sometimes IMO with a slow shutter and a great panning technique. With today's software high ISO goes unseen
Love your approach on the set, nice input from you to enhance the images!
Karl
Good point, Karl. I'm still a little stuck bumping (and more bumping) ISOs, but I need to "be brave" and experiment with that too. Thanks for your comments and encouragement--Kim

Kim,
The Blurred and uut of focus also don't work for me, BUT I thought the silhouette approach was interesting and unique.

Chris--truth be told, I feel the same. The blurs were worth a try and sorta work, but I agree about the silhouettes. I think the snags might be unique nest sites and as such, really work well with the distinct shapes of the herons. Thanks for your input.
