Has anyone used this? I've got an old Spyder4 calibration gadget that is not supported under MacOS Ventura.
I have a Mac mini M1 with a Benq 2700PT display.

So I've installed DisplayCAL, it took a lot of hoop jumping to get it installed to work.

I let it run, it went for almost 2hrs, and completed, but I didn't save the profile it created.

Has anyone ran this and is using the profile it created? The documentation is quite extensive, does anyone have a quick and dirty procedure they would be willing to share?

Thanks....Pete

I've used display cal in the past but stopped when I started having problems (hanging). The project appears to be in stasis as there have been no new releases since 2019 although I understand there is a python fork under development.

I never had it take 2 hours to do a calibration. But you should be able to choose the number of patches and pick something smaller if that is too long.

I never really noticed a difference between the profiles display cal made and the x-rite software. Except that some profiles made with display cal didn't work properly on Mac OS X (apparent bug on the OS side).

Photographylife has a long blog post on using it which was helpful to me: https://photographylife.com/how-to-calibrate-apple-mac-monitor

Note the tricky part imo is picking the right correction setting for your monitor, especially if your exact make is not listed.

I have it on some Windows laptops, but only for internal display. Calibration was fairly fast with an older i1 device.
