Male Ruby-throated on his perch

These were shot last night and this evening in my yard. It's very interesting to me that each time he flies away to do whatever hummingbirds do, he almost always comes back to the same branch. All comments and critiques welcome.

That's a very special hummingbird encounter to have it return to the same perch Gary. You took great advantage of the windfall and got some wonderful shots.

He's quite the little showoff, isn't he?

When we had a small plot of beebalm, I too was intrigued by their choice of perches--always the same spot.

Nice portraits Gary, including several that show off that gorgeous ruby gorget.

The open-beak portrait stands out to me.

I’ve noticed the males typically return to the same perch, sometimes days later.
