I had the pleasure of shooting next to Joshua Ong for a few hours one morning at this peregrine site. There was no activity to speak of for the first hour and a half and we were just starting to think we might get skunked when this male delivered a fresh catch right to our doorstep. We were the only two photographers there to catch the action. A beautiful morning at a great location, some wonderful company, and 10 minutes of action over three hours. What more could you ask for
Thanks for taking a look.
Gary

Great work Gary. While I like the red background, 3 and 4 tell the story without the gore.

Nice sharp set Gary. The waiting and good company had you well prepared for the action. Sounds like you had a memorable experience to boot. Everyone wins except the Dove. Heh.

I found it interesting that the falcon seemingly prepped his meal by plucking the feathers first, I've seen most larger birds take a, shall we say, more direct approach...

All your falcon shots are always well done. Sounds like a great morning, met a fellow FM member, caught some great action, came away with sweet images. Yep good morning in my book !

Got enough to make a feather pillow now! Holy cr^p Gary that was a heck of a shredding!! Sweet captures of the demise of a Dove but a meal for the Peregrine. I like the more neutral colored BG in this setting just an FYI

Fabulous, Gary!

You've gotta love it when after a long wait like that, the magic shifts and it all comes together. It doesn't look like you and Joshua were much interference for this sequence--you got some great shots documenting the feast!

Thanks Eric. I'm not experienced enough with these birds to say if that's common or not. I did witness a similar episode at this site in April, I believe it was this male, and he did the same thing.

Gary, the pleasure was mine and as always, it was great to see you and shoot together with you again. I am looking forward to another get together, maybe in the winter for some merganser actions.

Yes, we were fairly close of giving up when the male just landed with a kill in his claw. Phew! Those are wonderful images, Gary!

Thank you Joshua. And thanks for holding back on posting yours from this episode. No way I'd want to follow that act
On another note, I just purchased Topaz AI. Makes me want to redo all my images
Looking forward to seeing you in the fall.

That's a feeling I hope I never grow tired of. That exhilaration when the subject you're waiting for just suddenly appears. Doesn't matter if it's a Falcon, a Hummingbird, or a Dragonfly. Much appreciated Kim.
