After getting some very good input I have re-worked some of the Milky Way images from Grand Teton National Park. The biggest change is I used the new Denoise feature in Lightroom on the RAW file before any edits. I believe the noise reduction is significant.
This image was taken Jun 22, 2023 @ 4:05am. The location is the East end of Oxbow Bend, Grand Teton National Park. I used a Nikon D850, ISO5000, 10 sec, Sigma Art 14-24mm @ 14mm, f/2.8. I relalize many of the standard "rules" (500,300,etc) suggest I could use a much longer exposure time. I took images at 13, sec, 15, sec, and 18 sec and in all of those I saw more star trails in the corner than I was comfortable with, so I dumped them.
