I've become a huge fan of the Logitech MX, it takes some adjusting to get used to but long term it's extremely comfortable. Nice long battery life and easily charges via USB-C.

G502 Hero Logitech on my desk at work.

On mouse speed adjustments, smooth scroll wheel, good ergo and slides smooth. Mine is the corded version, so there may be a newer wireless version, too.

IMO this is very, very hand dependent; ie depending on the size of your hand, length of fingers, how much curl your fingers etc. I have also been using Logitech meece for decades .. other types not so much. Try before you buy or make sure you can return. Your hand won't thank you if you try to persevere with a mouse that is not ergonomic for you.

I have the Logitech MX Vertical, which is a nice "handshake"-style mouse (more ergonomic than conventional mice). I prefer corded mice as the wireless connection always seems to fail at crucial times, and this mouse can be used wired or wireless. It ticked all the boxes for me although I think mine was a lemon as it gave up the ghost after a few months; the cursor moves but the buttons behave erratically or not at all; same behavior whether wired or wireless. I like it so much, though, that I'm willing to get another to see if that one works longer.

I am not sure if this is relevant: I tried four mice for the recently acquired MacBook pro and the one that I liked the most by a large margin was Logitech MX Master 3S for Mac. This mice works perfectly with my older Windows laptop as well, and it is easy to switch between the two.

Logitech Ergo M575. Batteries last forever. Far better than keyboards where the ink wears away in a few weeks and Logitech refuses to back.

I've been using a Logitech MX Master 3 for several years and I like it a lot. The ergos/button setup is great, and it's rechargeable via USB-C, so no replacing batteries on the regular.

Have been using Contour Unimouse for years. Couldn’t work without it. Highly programable. Very comfortable.

I like apple's Magic Mouse: it's symmetrical (I use left handed mostly), supports gestures (especially 360 deg scrolling on the image), reliable bluetooth connection, and the surface doesn't have any crevices to attract dirt or gunk. Not sure if you can use the Magic Mouse on PC, but Logitech makes a similar model.

What features are you looking for?

I like the MX Master 3S. I tried the MX Vertical, and I like it's ergonomics much more, but it doesn't have the thumb wheel like the other MX mice.
