I've used my a6300 since release, and want to upgrade for IBIS, 180 screen, and USB-C. I'm a hobbyist that values compact size so that it's easier to bring a mirrorless camera everywhere. I'm generally happy with the a6300, but do wish it had better low light performance.
The a6700 is the obvious choice, but the a7C and its rumored successors are very tempting. A single camera body that travels light with APS-C lenses, but that can also unleash its full power when I'm able to bring FF glass would be a dream setup!
To use APS-C lenses, I'd have to put the a7C into crop mode which dramatically cuts down resolution:
a7C
24MP full frame
10MP crop mode
a7C ii (rumored)
33MP full frame
15MP crop mode
a7C R (rumored)
61MP full frame
27MP crop mode
a6700
27MP APS-C
A 61MP a7C R would be a perfect replacement at 27MP in crop mode, and I wouldn't be giving up anything over the a6700. However, the current a7C is only 10MP in crop mode, and the rumored a7C ii may only have 15MP. How big of a difference would I notice between 10-15MP, and how much worse will those photos be vs. the full 27MP a6700?
