A few from a walk this weekend with my bride -- all GFX100s, with pancake 50 handheld, all processed out to Astia emulation in C1.

(Sidenote: The more I use this camera, the more I wonder why I waited so long to jump onboard )

Not strictly a landscape in the true sense. The intent was to show the broad overall scene. Mom feeding fledglings, nest in cactus, vastness of their environment. Not focus solely on the birds themselves nor lose them in the landscape

I looked at the photo in full resolution. What a fantastic detalization! I immediately wanted this lens.

Thank you Cyxapb for the feedback, much appreciated.
Well, I agree it's an outstanding lens for sure.
However, you have to take into account that I processed and sharpened the raw file with DxO PureRAW 4.

Thanks again, K-H.

Curiously, I also use DXO PureRAW.

I'm just curious, did you sharpen these for web? If I look at them full size, I'm not seeing the detail I would expect, although they look good at web resize.

I use C1 to convert. I noticed that web-size, 2048px scaling still looked amazingly detailed yet not over-sharpened. So much so I actually dialed back my capture sharpening off from ideal to maintain a slightly more organic look. I think this is simply a testament to the original capture sensor, lens and file combo, because I havenít noticed it with any other system to this degree, including my most recent Z9 with best glass or XT5 with best glass. Whatever it is, itís definitely visible -

I wasn't quoting you, but I'd say the same about your posts too...though, resizing will knock some of that detail off. It's always so hard to discern what is native to the file and what was introduced in post since everyone uses different post tools and methods.

The majority of posts in this thread seem to have less detail than your average full frame at full res, which is confounding.

For whatever itís worth, my usual routine: I will output 2 versions from C1, a full sized, 16-bit PSD and a 2048 jpeg. I send the jpeg directly to PS where I add a border and sometimes a signature depending on where Iím posting them. I used to downsize the full psd to a 2048 web jpeg using a specific action I built that maintained sharpness and clarity better than C1 did. Then three or four C1 revisions ago, I found their onboard jpeg downsize to be excellent, good enough I stopped using PS for it.

Regardless, I still notice a quality in my GFX100s downsized web files Iíve not seen from any other camera.

Thanks RoamingScott.

In the image below I chose Lens softness(hard) in PR4 and exported the jpg file.

That's it. So what is the answer to your question?

K-H.

PS: On smugmug the jpg looks much sharper though.

Many thanks to K-H.A.W. for sending me the RAW file so I could answer my own question!

The RAW file is, IMO, "sharp enough" without additional sharpening. However, running LR Enhance on it cleans it up nicely but still avoids the oversharp look.

The look I'm seeing/commenting on in this thread is certainly from the sharpening step of post processing being run in PureRaw.
