With Deborah Allen traveling here since early June...just arrived at Putre in the Altiplano area so no flamingo or Rhea photos yet...

Chile is expensive if you are considering venturing here (gas about $6-7/gallon)...best deals are Air BnB's. People here in the north (from Santiago north to Peru border) worry much about crime but we have not seen anything unusual yet...if you watch their TV noticias (News) you can understand the fear - they really go all out crime/guns/blood etc.

Overall everything here works great: internet (5G everywhere); electricity...infrastructure. South Africa are you listening/watching?

glad you got to make the trip and are enjoying it. hope you stay safe. superb pictures with detail and colors amazing. i will probably never make it to chile so i really enjoy your pictures of these different birds. i am always amazed at the variety of bird species throughout the world. thank you for sharing.

Excellent photos and except for the Whimbrel and Cormorant lots of species we don't get in Colombia.
