p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · Some Birds from Nebraska

Unfortunately....none of the famous, more well known ones like sandhill cranes or meadowlarks, the state bird. Just a few from around the Omaha metro.

I've been a quiet lurker within this forum for years....admiring all the amazing work while watching and listening to all the professional discussions and tips on how to improve capturing one's wildlife vision through the camera.

Way overdue, but wanted to share a few of my favorites from this year...again all possible due to the inspiration and sharing of one's craft here in this forum.

Thanks for looking and looking forward to posting more in the future!

JC

Nice variety. The 'old' D500 shot looks as good as the Z-series shots.

Well, thanks for all the comments! I guess I need to learn how to curtail the size of my uploaded pics...seems my pics are a little larger than others....sorry about all that 'in your face' sharing!

Thank you! Yes - the D500 was my go-to birding camera for the longest due to that crop factor. Have to admit...once I got the Z6II....the quality of my photos drastically improved and then escalated with the Z9. Plus - my tradecraft has improved by learning new techniques from this community regarding patience and positioning to get better full frame shots. Also, I feel the better sensor, sharper focusing, and additional controls and capabilities of the Z bodies have allowed me to focus more on the experience and not the camera.

Thank you as well! I suspect like most places...we are blessed with several water areas here in the metro where GBH's flourish, so plenty of practice and opportunities to get them in action!

Fabulous set, JC and welcome to posting here!

There is nothing shabby about any of the work you posted. Personally, much as I like the headliner species, I always interested in high quality portraits of more common birds and wildlife. You did a stellar job with all of these.

I look forward to seeing more of your photography!
