What’s the best monitor for under $200.00?

You might look at one of the BenQ "Designer" monitors made for graphic designers. There aren't any that are under $200 MSRP, but they do sell refurbs occassionally.

This one is $270 MSRP

My opinion is most monitors under $200 are all going to be about the same. You'll want to choose a IPS monitor that has the ports that you need. Differences in quality are going to be negligible at this price target.

With Amazon Prime Day imminent, you may be able to get a bargain on a better monitor that would otherwise be out of your budget.
Good luck!

Shoot for the BenQ PD2700U That's at the bottom of the better spectrum, and you can calibrate it.

For what purpose? What size? What resolution?

For general use, just buy anything with an IPS panel if you can find one, at that price point there are no material differences anyway. There are no good sub-$200 monitors in terms of the qualities people normally look for in monitors for photo editing, gaming, etc. so don't spend too much time worrying about it.

I'm not sure where you work, but you might also check with your employer (or have your friends/family check) - it's not uncommon for office environments to give away all their old monitors or sell them for next to nothing, and they often have a bunch of them just sitting around. If you want a half decent monitor you can probably find one used for $200.

So I am looking for a new monitor. 4k would be nice, not essential. I have read about staying away from using scaled display on Macs, which is what I have. Dell has a 30" 2560x1600 or a 43" 3820x2160. Both work out to be about 100ppi. Pricing is similar. Will be used for photo/video work and general use. I am older and struggle with small text, and I have large computer desk. Thoughts and advice welcome, thanks, Mike
